Copy.

Hon. Colonial Secretary,

Opium labels.

I forward two specimens of opium labels found on some raw Chinese opium seized by the Police recently at Sheung Shui (**).

They are the first specimens seized of the Opium Suppression Bureau for the District of Po On () which borders on the New Territories.

One group of characters means that opium will be totally suppressed in 4 years. Another states that the Government for the sake of the people is completely

eradicating an injurious poison.

(Sd.) J. D. Lloyd,

Superintendent of Imports & Exports.

19th July, 1926.
